When we were planning for our first birth, it was obviously intimidating having not gone through that before as a couple. Of course, my wife was doing the heavy lifting, but as the husband (and father) I wanted to be there as a support.
What I discovered pretty quickly was the incredible assistance a doula offers, not only to the expectant mother, but to the father as well. Dara was AMAZING.
